Give Your Kicks A Lift

We don't know about you, but sometimes we just want to add a new shine to our shoes, or maybe a little flair to our flops.
And what better way, than with some Crystal Clay!
And we LOVE the results!

We decided to experiment with some sandals.
Make sure any part you will be using the Crystal Clay on is nice and clean. This will ensure the clay will stick.
Here are the before pictures:

All you need to do is mix the clay according to the directions. Then, apply it to the surface you want to bling out. We only applied to metal surfaces to be sure it would adhere properly. Add your crystal chatons and let it set! We dusted ours with eye shadow to add some extra shimmer!

Here is our finished result!

And there you have it! A small change, but a big result! Hope you enjoyed!

You can find Crystal Clay in our shops:

CHA Mega Show 2014

One of my assistants and I had the opportunity to go to the CHA Mega Show (Craft and Hobby Association) again this year. It's always so exciting to see new products we can offer. As well as learn new techniques to use on current products. We can't wait to share! But for now, there were a few key highlights at the show we wanted to rehash..... Here we go!

This is a mixer completely crystallized! It was so pretty to look at, because the crystal just threw out all different colors. And the designs with in the piece were pretty amazing as well! Work done by Kellie DeFries aka- The Crystal Ninja. #crystalninja

This crystal football was also done by the Crystal Ninja. Laces up!

And this piece took some incredibly steady hands! Again, work by the Crystal Ninja. I don't think I could ever bring myself to open that one!

Look who I found at the CHA show! Rupert was such a kind man! He took time to speak to me, and was just so sincere. It was a pleasure to meet him.

This was a small booklet my assistant made at the Prima Marketing Flowers booth. The colors were amazing! She took a bit to make this, too many choices!

We also had the opportunity to make this mini photobook. This was made at the Graphics 45 booth. Again, just really neat embellishments! Each page inside seems to tell a little story.....

More to come from our CHA Mega Show 2014 experience!

Blinged Out Running Shoes!

E6000 is not just for jewelry! Here, we used it along with Swarovski crystals to jazz up these Nike running shoes. Crystal running shoes make working out just a little more fun, and a whole lot prettier!

E6000 can be found at our stores www.willowruncrafts.com or www.etsy.com/shop/karenscraftsupplies

DIY Jewelry Display

Make you own jewelry display board!

Directions for the jewelry display:
 1. Have your aluminum board ready. Cut it down if it is too large for your frame. You want it larger than the frame center, but smaller then the edge of the frame, so it does not hang over.

 2. Use a staple gun and staple the metal board to the back of the wood frame. It is best if your unfinished frame is approx 2 inches wide on the actual frame part itself. If you can't find an unfinished frame, most hardware or Home Depot stores will cut wood for you, and just use wood glue to create the frame.

 3. Now flip over the piece so you can lay the paper.

 4. Cover the frame with adhesive. We used mod podge. Once the frame is coated, cover it with a piece of scrap book paper. Press down firmly to make stick. Let it dry.

 5. Once dry, cut out the middle square, 3/4" away from frame. You will then glue that 3/4" to cover the inside lip of the frame (again, using mod podge). Let dry.

 6. Now it's time for the fun! Decorate any way you would like! We used a glue gun and E6000 on various ribbon roses, buttons, crystals, etc. Enjoy! This is the creative fun part!

Note- please use caution and protective goggles when using a staple gun! Not to be used by children!
You can find the aluminum boards in different sizes and styles at our shops:
